The Story of ink-Robot

ink-Robot are two girls in love with all things art and each other, embarking on a whirlwind journey to accomplish their dream: Art everyday, all day - whilst sharing all the exciting ink-Robot creations with the universe. 

Wondering how it all happened? 

After meeting and living in Bristol for three years, they worked in un-rewarding jobs and found it a struggle being cogs in the machine. Keeping up with the demands of city life, Abi and George knew it was time for change. They took the plunge to move away from the city and head for the countryside to focus on the most important thing, “creative freedom”.

After a deep inhale of country fresh air and a sigh of relief the work began. 

Abi and George have always had a love for cards and they became something they would make for one another, friends and family on down days and happy days. Small scribbles or little doodles with messages of love, support and on the rare occasion wisdom. Cards aren’t just cards they thought and this is when the lightbulb moment happened, they can be small, limited editions of art that everyone can afford and they don’t need huge space to hang. They can be kept and cherished and that’s when Abi and George decided to create art pieces that work on cards for all occasions that can be displayed forever, adding even more meaning to those personal messages.

Wondering about the name?

George is the ‘ink’, due to her unique work with Indian ink and fine liner, creating small scale, highly intricate art pieces to keep for a lifetime. Abi is the ‘Robot’ due to her bold and striking digital illustrations that will add colour to any room. 

And so ink-Robot was born and the adventure began.
